Account and data deletion
How to delete individual entries or your entire account, what is removed, and how long removal takes.
Deleting one thing
Any entry, prayer, reflection, or journey can be deleted on its own from inside the app. Deleting an entry also removes the reflections generated from it.
Deleting your account
Open Settings, choose Data and privacy, and select Delete account. You will be asked to confirm, and you will be offered an export first — once deletion runs, your writing cannot be recovered by you or by us.
What is removed
- Entries, prayers, reflections, journeys, and saved passages.
- Tags, settings, preferences, and guided reflection responses.
- Your authentication record and profile.
What is kept, and why
Billing and tax records are retained for the period the law requires, and anonymised operational logs that contain no journal content may persist. Neither can be used to reconstruct what you wrote.
Timing
Content is removed from active systems promptly and purged from encrypted backups within the ordinary backup rotation. If you have an active subscription, cancel it or contact support so billing stops cleanly.
Help
If you cannot access your account to delete it, email privacy@wordforword.io from the address on the account.
